Based on its foundation a as cloud-based platform for governments to share “open data”, Socrata has now advanced its platform to provide those same government customers with a new secure, “behind the firewall” cloud-based platform for inter-organizational data sharing, called Socrata Connected Government Cloud (SCGC). The initiatives that citizens expect government to tackle today are often cross agency or department initiatives, such as the opioid crisis, workforce enablement, creating safer roads, etc. Now operating as a division of Tyler Technologies (acquired in 2018), the SCGC platform provides government agencies with a secure, FedRAMP-compliant platform to share data on joint initiatives with trusted partners from different departments or agencies. Among other things, SCGC enables, governs and audits formal data sharing agreements, ensures common data standards are established and adhered to, and allows data stewards to maintain complete control of who access their data while sharing it with trusted cross-organizational partners.
Microsoft has a long history in the BI and Data Management space, and has continuously evolved it’s offering to now be one of the leading products on the market. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the worlds’ leading cloud infrastructure company, larger than the 14 next-largest providers – combined. Just like its famed e-commerce business, AWS uses its size to offer the broadest selection of capabilities while driving down prices, making it not only the largest and most scalable service in the world, but also the most cost effective. But Amazon brings much more to the table than simply cloud hosting. AWS has essentially transformed the functions of a typical datacenter into an API. This API can be called by software to install and configure new software, turn on new machines, scale up existing deployments, backup/restore entire architectures, etc. These unique capabilities led Qlarion to partner with AWS to create Qlarion QloudSmart, a secure cloud-based Managed Service for Public Sector BI/Analytics. QloudSmart radically simplifies the complexity of BI/Analytics deployments for Public Sector organizations.
