IMAGINE™ Methodology

Proven Methodology Ensures Your Successful Deployment
Meeting your schedule and cost targets, while managing user expectations, can be challenging without the proper management experience, planning and execution. To ensure successful deployments, Qlarion has developed a full-lifecycle data warehouse delivery methodology called IMAGINE™ that has established our firm’s reputation for delivering projects on time and on budget.

At the core of the IMAGINE methodology is the software development lifecycle (SDLC), incorporated with key aspects of Agile, Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Lean Six Sigma, and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).

Imagine drives a data warehousing project from the very early planning stages to project completion, and includes return on investment (ROI) evaluation. The five key stages in IMAGINE represent the main stages in all BI implementations – Plan, Analyze, Design, Develop, and Deploy, while also employing a layer of comprehensive project management and change management. This process ensures project uniformity, consistency, and quality, while delivering maximized value.

As described below, several key activities occur within each phase of implementation:

Our team first aims to understand your organization’s business performance goals, and develop a vision that includes the right combination of technology, people and processes to achieve those goals. The team formulates a phased approach roadmap to build out the vision, and creates the foundation for organizing resources, management controls and tasks around that vision.

Next, Qlarion will identify your system’s business-driven requirements, and analyze your organization’s existing technical infrastructure and data sources. Special attention is paid to discover business process dependencies and their
potential impacts on the system.

At this stage, our team translates functional designs into technical specifications. By securing business user and sponsor sign-off on the system design, our team can effectively build and execute a tailored work plan based on the design requirements.

Within the development stage, the technology infrastructure and solution are created in an appropriate environment that enables full testing, user sign-off, knowledge transfer and documentation of the solution.

This stage moves the solution into production and allows you to safely transition your people, processes, and technology into the new operational model. The ultimate success of any engagement is the degree by which the users adopt the solution into day-to-day business processes. So, this stage’s success is critical.
