RESTON, VA. – For the second year in a row, Qlarion has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in Virginia by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group.
This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce and businesses. Qlarion was one of just 62 companies recognized in the small employer category (companies with more than 15 and up to 99 employees).
Since its founding in 2010, Qlarion’s leadership team has implemented a number of internal programs designed to support and nurture its employees. The company offers employees a defined career path, opportunities for training and professional development, generous benefits and a “life-friendly” work environment.
“We know that our biggest asset is our people,” said Jake Bittner, CEO of Qlarion. “We’ve found that acknowledging that our employees have lives outside of work and giving people the flexibility they need results in better performance and better employee retention. If you hire talented, dedicated individuals, then a culture with a healthy work-life balance comes naturally.”
Qlarion is active in the Northern Virginia community and participates in a number of employee-led volunteer programs, including events and fundraisers supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand, A Child’s Joy, and Adopt a Hero.
Qlarion has also established a tight-knit employee culture—a task that many government contracting firms struggle with, since employees often spend more time on-site with the customer than with their colleagues.
“When we started Qlarion in 2010, one of my primary goals was creating a corporate culture that attracted people with passion,” said Bittner. “The fact that we have won this award two years in a row is evidence that we’ve succeeded, but we know that fostering a thriving, supportive culture is a continual effort—not a one-time endeavor. The entire Qlarion leadership team is committed to cultivating an environment that attracts—and retains—the best talent. We are constantly thinking about ways to improve the lives of our employees, and we’ll keep doing so.”
